Summary
Dr Ernest Poh Mau Ern graduated from the prestigious University of Malaya with distinction and began his career at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He obtained his membership with the Royal College of Physicians (London, UK) in 2011. He subsequently completed his fellowship in Respiratory Medicine under the mentorship of distinguished Professor Dr Liam Chong Kin.
He went on to work at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, UK and was trained in the areas of lung cancer, lung transplantation, pulmonary hypertension amongst many other respiratory illnesses. He is skillful in pleural ultrasound, therapeutic chest drain insertions and bronchoscopy. Prior to his return to Malaysia, he successfully passed the Specialty Certificate Examination in Respiratory Medicine, awarded by the Royal College of Physicians UK and British Thoracic Society.
He treats a variety of respiratory conditions with a special interest in lung cancer. He is affiliated to the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, European Society of Medical Oncology, Asian Pacific Society of Respirology, Malaysian Thoracic Society and Royal College of Physicians (UK). He publishes extensively and is highly involved in global clinical research work.
